Moon’s parka was askew, cut open near the stomach, with gray-and-white goose down poking out. Yet, even in the cool air, he had poured sweat during the fight, which was now burning the skin on his back as it began to freeze. He zipped the jacket as he made his way from the tow deck, making sure to secure the bulkhead door behind him.

Everything seemed to be unraveling, at least in his mind. Even though they still had at least six more days to sail, he felt like they didn’t have time to deal with an outbreak.

Running now, he had traversed the maze that was the main deck and found himself busting through the open door into the pilot house.

He took a deep breath as the men manning the ship’s controls stopped what they were doing and stared.

Captain Adams looked at him quizzically. “Agent, are you okay?”

Moon glanced around the room and then gazed out over the ocean as the ship was nearing its first ice field. “No, I’m not. I just got done killing an infected crewman, but I don’t know if he was the only one infected.”
